Bríd Dooley is Head of Archives at RTÉ, Ireland’s National Public Service Media Organisation. Her career in the broadcast archive sectors spans the UK and Ireland, having worked in her formative years at ITN and London's South Bank Television Centre, then with RTÉ since 2000. She has extensive knowledge and experience of both public service archiving practices and commercial television. A former President of FIAT/IFTA, the International Federation of Television Archives, she led the world's foremost network and professional association for media archives from 2016 to 2020. She is a leading advocate for the development of audio visual archives worldwide, championing endangered archives, and is also involved in the promotion of the value and use of archives for production and creative arts, and the monetisation of archives to recognise their value and support reinvestment through the broadcast sector.
